Connector Setup
Connect your data sources to Aurva for discovery and monitoring.
Connectors link your data sources to Aurva, enabling discovery, classification, and activity monitoring.
Supported Data Sources
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Relational Databases | Amazon RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), Aurora |
| Data Warehouses | Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery |
| Object Storage | Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob |
| NoSQL / Document | MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch |
Adding a Connector
- 1
Navigate to Connectors
Go to Settings → Connectors → Add Connector.
- 2
Select data source type
Choose the engine type (e.g. Amazon RDS PostgreSQL).
- 3
Enter connection details
Provide the hostname/endpoint, port, database name, and credentials. For S3, provide the bucket name and IAM role ARN.
- 4
Test the connection
Click Test Connection. Aurva verifies reachability and credential validity.
- 5
Save and trigger initial scan
Save the connector. An initial discovery scan starts automatically within 5 minutes.
Aurva requires read-only credentials for discovery and classification. Write access is not needed and should not be granted.
Rotating Credentials
If connector credentials expire or are rotated, navigate to the data asset → Actions → Update Credentials and enter the new values.
